Active listings are an important metric to track when looking at market supply. An active listing is a short-term rental (STR) that has had an available night or received at least one booking in the previous month.
If a listing has blocked its entire calendar during the reporting month but is still live on Airbnb or VRBO, we don't consider it truly active, as it has not been possible to make a reservation during that time.
Total Active listings is the number of properties that received at least one booking in the previous month and can be found in the Listings tab in the left-side panel.
Total Active Listings
To view all listings in a market, click the Short-term Rentals tab in the left-hand navigation panel. The listings shown are properties that have received at least one booking in the past 12 months. The total number of listings is displayed beneath the platform filters.
In most instances, these figures will be different as the short-term rental listings represent the total number of listings that received a booking at some point over the last twelve months, whereas Total Active Listings represent the number of listings that received a booking in the previous month.
